Andrew Craig was born in Westmorland County, PA, on February 23, 1820, moving to Indiana County with his family at an early age.  In 1837, at the age of 17 years, he came to Brookville to learn to make cabinets with his older brother.  In 1846, he married Elizabeth Brady, daughter of Hugh Brady and sister of Capt. Evans R. Brady.  Their children were:  Infant that died at age of 18 months, H. B. Craig, Mrs. Amzi Haines, and Alice Craig, all of Brookville; Laura Smith of Corry, and Evans R. Craig of DuBois.
