Jonas Sowers was born near Ohl in Beaver Township, Jefferson County, PA, on 8 February 1838. He was a farmer and resided in that township his entire life. Mr. and Mrs.
Sowers where the parents of eight children. Their children were Elizabeth Glontz of Langville; Elmer of Beaver Township; Harvey B. of Ohl who lived on an adjoining farm; John M. of Ohl; Burton
R. and Irene who never married and resided at home; Robert of Ohl; and Fannie (wife of H. M. Haugh) of Roseville, Jefferson County.
Mr. Sowers died on his farm 19 September 1914, and was buried in the
Cliff Church Cemetery in Beaver Township, Jefferson County, PA. His wife, Helen, died in 1918, and is buried beside him.
