Sarah Catherine Brady, was born September 30, 1835, in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County, PA. She was one of seven children born to John and Jane Long. Their family consisted
of four daughters and three sons: I. R. Long, Mrs. Henry Parker, Mrs. Edward Shobert, Mrs. Oliver Brady, John C. Long, James E. Long, and Sarah Catherine Brady.
She married Andew Jackson Brady of Indiana Co., PA, about 1842. Sarah
Catherine and A. J., resided in Indiana County for a year or two, then moved to Jefferson County, where they remained for the remainder of their lives. Their
family consisted of 11 children, some of whom died in childhood. Of the ones who lived to adulthood, were L. A. Brady of Brookville, Gertrude Brady of Brookville, and Mrs. John Matson of DuBois.
Mrs. Brady died May 7th, 1892, and was buried in the Brookville Cemetery, Brookville, PA,
beside her husband who had died in 1885.
