Mr. Long was born in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County, PA, on March 10, 1836, the son of Daniel and
Rebecca (McCullough) Long. He was a resident of Jefferson County his entire life. His occupation was as a machinist, but he was known through out his life for his gift of musical ability. On
September 19, 1859, he married Miss Louisa Doubles. Their family consisted of 5 children, 3 of whom died young.
One son Frank P. Long, and a daughter Anna Laura (Long) Allebach were the surviving children. Daniel
Albert Long died on January 24, 1923, at the home of his daughter in Brookville, PA. His wife, Louisa, died in 1918. Both are buried in the Brookville Cemetery, Brookville, PA.
